Why blog about the Philippines in general? Years ago, a very good friend of mine who's based overseas told me he can never stay for long in the Philippines because there are not too many beautiful places to see. I took that as a challenge to show, not just him, but other Pinoys as well that this country is a hidden gem, it's just that we often look west-wards to see what's nice and beautiful. Lagal[og] is a journey of self-discovery for me, too, as I see little- by-little, place-by-place, what I was missing (or was overlooking) before.
Why Lagalog? Lagalog is a phonetic play on "lagalag," Filipino for nomad or wanderer.
What's Lagalog? I'm Oggie Ramos, a travel photographer and conceptualist-writer based in Makati City and this is my personal travel blog. I have been blogging since 2004 and Lagalog is my first blog. Lagalog is a proud member of the Asian Travel Blog Network.
