Of Ben and Jen

Nope, ain't talking about the ice cream. Rather, watched "The House of Sand and Fog" and boy, was it heavy. The point was, I think, wonderfully pointed out as another one's dream may be another person's nightmare.  It's pretty hard to make the character of Jennifer Connelly the scapegoat for everything that happened, her addiction, fling, impulsiveness and all, but the character of Ben Kingsley as the exiled former henchman of the Shah of Iran's strongman, is not completely without fault.  At one point, it seems that the story may be headed, after all, to a brighter ending. Until everything goes completely wrong, jumping from one tragedy to the next. Reminds me of Steven Spielberg's "A.I." where the audience is taken from one level of despair to an even lower one. It is finely-acted though, especially by Kingsley.  It's just not entertainment fare when you want to relax and get back into a happy mood.

Anyway, it' a Sat evening and just got back to the office from mass. Well, that's the way the cookie crumbles. At least, waiting here in the office, I finished a chapter or two of my review. hopefully, I'll be able to cram my final review before Wed's exam. Wish me luck!
