SEA Games: Lessons sports taught me

Being in the arena and hearing the country's national anthem twice over make me really proud of being a Filipino.S upporting our brothers in iron (read: bodybuilders) at the SEA Games competition over at the GSIS theater, I was really glad of taking my time and lending support to our hardworking athletes on a Sunday when na-cancel ang work. tell you honestly, it also stoked my competitive fires (like what my gym buddy, Toti, always tells me, I have what it takes to go far in the sport although I'm still mixed-up about getting hefty kasi mahihirapan akong mamundok). Thoughts to ponder over the holidays. Anyway, congratulations to our athletes for winning the overall championship. The severe lack of funds notwithstanding, they rose brilliantly to the occasion. Let this be a lesson to our countrymen - only in solidarity and perseverance can we steer our course to where we want to go. And to paraphrase Globe's campaign - basta Pinoy, posible!
