Be an earth angel

Yesterday was Earth Day. What have we done to our planet? What can we do to help save what we can for future generations? On a sad note, today's papers report that Mt. Banahaw is being considered for permanent closure. and one of the main reasons? All the trash and damages caused by mountaineers. With or without the benefit of affiliation or without brandishing the "mountaineer" label, we all have a responsibility to care for the planet, whether it be the boondocks, the seas, or the skies. And no, one doesn't have to be an earth-hugger to give a damn. In my book, one can be the strongest, fastest climber and yet, if you don't care about the environment, you don't live up to the term, "mountaineer".
