Myanmar: Mono Impressions

ananda paya side column statueI thought it's nice to look back to my Myanmar trip and look deeper into my stash for keepers to share with friends, readers, and visitors to this site. Just as i guessed, the local color isn't lost when I reinterpreted some of my captures into black and white, which is perhaps an indication of how beautiful the place is.shwedagon paya ultrawideFrom the Ananda Paya in New Bagan to the Shwedagon pagoda in Yangon, right to the Shwezigon Paya walkway, there is beauty and an almost otherworldly tranquility in the images.shwezigon paya walkway silhouette

the photos in monochrome made it more, erm, ancient. just perfect for that old feel.

oman, i took a second look at some of my captures and decided they would make nice monos so here are some of them. maybe, in the future i would be inclined to try converting some more. thanks for dropping by bro.

em,thanks! the man peeking is a local. i don't have a monk shot peeking through the hallway columns but i do have some that take advantage of the vanishing perspective (please see my may 25 post) :D
