Vietnam • Love me tender

Apologies to Elvis for borrowing the title of one of his more popular hits. I just thought it highly appropriate for this post, one of the images I was able to dig from my Vietnam archive, a Hmong mother and child in Sapa Valley. ironwulf and I bought some souvenirs from them with the condition that we would be able to take shots of them. I figure the cropping could've been a bit better but in the expediency of the moment, I thought I didn't do too badly. Here's another look back to our North Vietnam trip in anticipation of our next out of town trip this coming weekend.

the scene in the pic reminded me of old traditions in my province where a baby child is carried that way. sadly wala na ko nakikitang ganyan ngayun. galing ng kuha mo oggie, sharp and colorful.

thanks oman. sadly nga, some beautiful traditions like this are becoming a thing of the past.

anyway, glad you liked this one. i guess i got lucky kahit na i wasn't able to fully capture the face of the mom because she kept moving

ei dom, thanks! i personally liked this one most especially :-) dunno but i seem to have a knack for people shots as other people also tell me

Ok din ang pagka tight frame nya kahit medyo na tapyas yung mom. Parang naging emphasis naman yung boy sa likod with compliments on the mother's back

wulfriend! i didn't crop this at all kasi as it is, tight na yung framing talaga. i thought ok na rin nga that the emphasis is on the child because he was really comfy and cozy in that position :-)
