By a twist of faith (and an eye on my budget), I got booked on a night flight to Bangkok enroute to Myanmar. An hour delayed leaving Manila’s Terminal 3, I arrived in Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi airport at way past midnight.Cavernous and huge are the best words I can use to describe the airport. Just retrieving one’s check-in baggage is like walking the end-to-end distance of an SM Megamall floor.Much to my pleasant surprise, I was greeted by a group of Pinays headed for Jordan on the check-in floor. They were my co-passengers on the same flight from Manila, and like me, were also spending overnight in the airport. I actually wondered why they settled for a crowded row of seats when there were plenty of empty seats on both ends of the airport. It can get very cold here so I’m glad i heeded the advice of my buddy, Ironwulf, to bring along my trusty malong. The airport continued to be a beehive of activities well into the night but having found my spot, sleep came blissfully swift.
