Hump month

Don't mean any malice with the title. It's just that my good friend, Boyet, has a term for Wednesdays: hump day. It's when one gets over the first half of the week, all its troubles and burdens, and looking forward to the coming weekend. I'm just applying the term to the whole year. It's now July. Whew! Wasn't it just Christmas the last time I had really taken a good, hard look at the calendar? Now, it's another 5 months to Christmas 2004. It's a nice time to take stock of things. Where are we headed, what have we done, what do we need to do.

There were friends who've come and gone. New friendships forged and old friendships strengthened.  Old plans accomplished, new plans to be made. There's so much that needs to be done. So much to regret over. So much healing needed. And so much is uncertain. But with faith we have to move on and move forward. Count our blessings and pray for new ones. Make new plans.  It's easy to get overwhelmed with the details, lose sleep over plans. But it's comforting to know that at the end of the day, the Man Upstairs will always be there to back us up. Thanks Old Man (hey, you're far older than anything else)! Boy, I'm far from perfect and oftentimes, I totally leave you out of the picture but you won't ever do the same to me. For that, I'll be eternally grateful. happy hump month _c")_
