Requiem

Was invited to sing in the mass at the wake of the dad of one of our bosses. Midway through the eulogy, found it hard to sing loud and clear, choking up on emotions, grief, sadness. My own dad passed away 21 years ago but all the same, it's saddening to see someone else's parent go. It's never an easy thing to accept for anyone. But Father Jamby said it succintly - death can be beautiful because it celebrates life, the one lived and the other one is leaving for, a transition to something eternal. We just have to believe that Jesus will always be true to his promise of eternal life. Sublime thoughts on a Wednesday.
