With Monday a holiday, had to attend to my car's registration first thing yesterday. Guess what, met Neil, a long-lost badminton buddy at the LTO. It was rather a sad meeting because I learned that he and his wife are migrating to the U.S. this November. What a way to start the morning and the week. His story echoes a lot of my friends' own tales of woes. Sana naman, there's something more we can do to keep our people here. There's not a week when I don't hear of friends or acquaintances leaving or contemplating the idea.
It's like this mill in the picture. Do we start grinding away the grains and work towards providing for a better future? Or are we going to grind each other down and head nowhere?
