Candaba sunset blues

While yesterday's sunset wasn't something to crow about, a landscapist learns to make do with what nature provided on a given day. Given that the trip was exploratory in nature, I consider myself lucky to come home with a few keepers like this one, a bluesy rendering of the sky over Mt. Arayat. It's a blue sunset alright but honestly, it's nothing to be blue about.

i like the clamness of the swamp that it forms a reflection of the view. same with the photo before this.

This is a great shot - the swamp with Mt. Arayat in the background. It is ironic that my mother hailed from Baliwag and to this day I have not been to nearby Candaba swamp!

In those days, we were always cautioned to stay away from it because the "huks" or hukbulahap (the equivalent of the npa these days) ruled the swampland.

dom, thanks bro. i do agree, it's a tranquil image that kept us gawking as we did the hike going out of the interior road and back to candaba town proper.

bert, salamat. my late father is also from baliwag but this is the first time i've ever been to candaba town. i heard about the npas but even when we climbed mt. arayat last year, they didn't harm anyone on the trail. thanks for the comment bro. daan ka uli.

challenge talaga sa landscapist yung kumuha ng magandang picture kahit hindi ganun kaganda ang weather or yung light. you hit it! ganda bro!

thanks photocache.

i see the outline of that solitary mountain everyday. glad you toured my neighboring province of pampanga. though there ain't too many spectacular place to visit there, i frequent the place whenever i need to go somewhere just to drive and think. plus the foods are great.
