One of the things i missed during my last trip to Batanes was the ruins of Songsong. The remnants of a tsunami over 50 years ago, they have endured the weathering of time and the elements but not the hands of man. New stone houses are now standing in place of the ruins. I emailed Augusto Villalon of the Daily Inquirer about this impending destruction way back in January 2007 but sadly, there was no response. So now I'm reprinting a capture from December 2006 as a tribute to this ghost town that's now a ghost of its old self.
