Birding Notes: Long-tailed Shrike Spotted in Banaue, Ifugao

Name: Long-tailed shrike 
Scientific Name: Lanius schach
Location of sighting:  Hill at the back of DDD Heritage Inn in Tam-an, Bissang, Banaue, Ifugao
Time of sighting:  Towards noon
Observations:  Noisy, shrill call/sound, likes to land/perch on treetops and sometimes the tall grasses on the hill

Trivia:  Lanius is derived from the Latin word meaning "butcher" while schach is onomatopeic for the word "shriek".  Capable of vocal mimicry (Source: Wiki)
