Scratching the surface, seeing the light in Borongan

Lagalog just completed a 3-day photo assignment for Seair in Borongan, Eastern Samar. I have yet to sift thru the big jumble of images i've shot but off the bat, I'd say the place is beautiful and holds a lot of potential. If it weren't for the really bad roads -- especially the 4-4 1/2 hour van-ride stretch between Tacloban and Borongan that alternated between kinda smooth, very rough and butt-numbing rough -- this jewel of the Visayas would be hauling in its fair share of tourists. But that's getting ahead of my story. For the meantime, allow me to share this breathtaking sunrise in Divinubo Island, Borongan. 3 days in this place is simply not enough to even scratch the surface as far as the wealth of treasures borongan is prepared to reward the inquisitive traveler.

nice reflection. the place looks peaceful and nostalgic or at least that's what the image tells me. i haven't been to this part of Samar so i am excited to see more.

Ako rin can't wait for the rest of the images. Since especially this is also an off-the-beaten path destination that tourism here needs a little push. Very nice landscape shot. Kita ang rugged beauty ng place.

thanks for dropping by and leaving a comment. will post as soon as i can process the images and my thoughts. my initial thoughts on borongan: beautiful and promising. there's so much to unearth that a week is not enough.

ron, salamat! makes it certainly worth riding a banca at 3.30am in complete darkness :-D

bai! hahaha, akala ko ano na yung comment mo, hehehe. i'm a bit edgy rin at first on my output kasi with the weather and the time constraints, it's not easy to come up with magazine-quality images :D glad you liked this one :)
